Barbara Duffy has been on a life long mission to make healthcare better, safer, more effective, and kinder. She is an RN with a BS in Healthcare Education, Master's Degree in Public Health, and Doctorate in Health Science.  In additional to being a Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager, and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, she currently teaches for multiple universities. Her work experience includes ICU, Home Health Director, Consultant, Regulatory, Performance Improvement & Quality, Patient Safety, and Risk Management and is a published author and past President of the Florida Association for Healthcare Quality.

She believes improvement management is the highest application of operational excellence and solutions are found by collaboratively utilizing the talents from multiple, albeit inter-related perspectives of Patient Safety, Performance Improvement, Quality, Staff Education, Pro-active Risk Management, Regulatory, Policy & Procedure, and Accreditation along with Information Technology.  This enables synergy, finding pit falls, integrating process, and identifying resources to best support the mission, sustain improvement, and promote value via outcome and the bottom line - with a passion.
